Today is my first time online in a few days. I don’t have much time to post, so I’ll just write about what’s going on recently and save the first 2 weeks for later. I moved into an apartment in a part of Zhuhai called Gongbei. It’s a great location I’ve been going out every day and exploring my surroundings. There’s a bus stop just down the road and many many small shops on my street. There are several back streets in the neighborhood with incredibly cheap food… there’s also dogs running around all over, so I try to stay away from the meat. Last week I realized my constant good health and hearty meals were starting to catch up to me, so I began working out and running every day. The two gyms near me each cost about $ 40 a month, but luckily I found a small one in a hotel that’s free until they realize I’m not a guest!
If you turn the corner to the major street, there’s a decent sized mountain on the left (1000, 1500 feet maybe?) that I ran up Tuesday morning. The view is magnificent. The right side of the big street goes for about 2 miles to the Gongbei port (The Macau Zhuhai border). Along this street there is a ton of upscale shopping that I steer clear of. At the border, there is an underground shopping center that’s just humongous. If you need fake anything, go there. Yesterday I went out to get a few things and ended up with a vest, t-shirt, jeans and dress shirt for 180 yuan, or about $27 US.
I’m down to 10% battery so I’ll try to get this posted before I run out... EDIT: The html code is all messed up for this site and cuts the side of my pics off. Will post when I figure it out.
